Mr. Healdsburg Pageant
Sat Feb 28, 2015
THE ZANY fundraiser they've all
been talking about..
An all-male parody of the event everyone loves to hate: the anachronistic beauty contest. Come watch local gentlemen vie for the (plastic) crown by competing in all the usual categories: beachwear, formalwear, talent, and interview. This is a FUNDRAISER for the Raven, and your votes (with $$$) help determine the finalists.
MUST BE 21 to attend!
Attendees cannot bring their own food or alcohol.
ID and bags will be checked by security.
The Mr. Healdsburg Pageant is in its 11th year and is one of the Raven's most important fundraisers, bringing in around $20K each year. We have five local female judges who represent a broad cross-section of the community, and the audience members also judge the contestants by donating $$ to a specific contestant (via online donations, and at the event). This year Mr. Healdsburg 2013, Paul Downey, will perform a farewell song.
General Seats $40 Advance Purchase
$45 At Door (if available).
(RUNWAY SOLD OUT).
Tickets also available (cash/check only)
at Copperfield's in Healdsburg.
The show sold out in previous years,
so buy your tickets well in advance!
MEET THE CONTESTANTS
Why? Because I love this town. The people, the
wine, the environment.
Background: I am a cheese expert, a long endurance athlete, and an avid beer aficionado.
MR. BALLOON MAN
Why? Have always had a desire to perform and hope after retirement to get involved with theater. Thought that Mr. H would be a great launching point. Like knowing that this event and the money it raises could give back to people.
Background: Married going on 23 years to my amazing wife Janelle. Proud to be father of my daughter Alea. Have been an entertainer the past 12 years doing magic & balloons at BD parties, corporate events, company picnics, etc. I am a UPS driver serving Hbg. Enjoy travel, golf, softball, and time with family. Have been around the world twice while serving in the US Navy.
MR. SPEEDY STICKS
Why? Healdsburg is awesome! The Raven is awesome! This town has embraced me. I want to give back and serve this community.
Background: My life was not complete before I was a dad. My wife Leslye and I are relatively new here (from Denver); we can’t think of a better place to raise Grace and Spencer.
Why? I was Hbg High class of 93 homecoming QUEEN. Looking for a crown to put next to my tiara.
Background: 5th generation Sonoma County resident. I’m a metal artist that focuses on using recycled materials to make functional items.
Why? I love this town and want to support one of its treasures. Plus it would feed an already too- large ego.
Background: Musician. Wine judge. Golf poorly. Tennis poorly.
Background: I’m a super techie at Claimremedi. Tons of my friends have been involved with this show, so I know it’s a hoot and a great thing for the Raven. Ask me about my tattoo!
MR. CONTESTANT X
Why? Prove to the world that even the anonymous deserves recognition.
Background: Hobbies include walking the dog and sketching. Wife is Mrs Contestant X, no Little Contestant Xes that I’m aware of.
MR. MACHOS LIBROS
Why? Extreme Narcissism tinged with masochistic tendencies.
Background: For the past 4 years I have managed the Hbg Library. From 88 to 2011 I was in charge of the So Co Wine Library. I have been in love and married to Annette for many years and we have a lovely daughter Amanda. I am president of the board of North Sonoma Co Services, homeless shelter and transitional housing.
